Rapid Rundown - November 2025

Greetings to all our valued members.

I am very pleased to announce that a committee was formed on Saturday, 15 November 2025 to serve you and ensure that our wonderful club continues to progress successfully.

The members of the team are:

Management Committee

• Youth Representative - Rowen Justo (new to the role)

You can see that there are four “new” committee members and one “new” committee support member.

I’ve been around the club in various roles since 2001 – when I didn’t own an MX-5 and was living/working in Saudi Arabia. So, a better description would be well worn rather than “new”. However, it is my honour to be part of this amazing group of dedicated members as your President.

Our Vice-President, Bill Justo, comes fully loaded with amazing professional experience in organisations and management and will make the committee’s job of supporting the club so much easier. Bill admits he has too many MX-5s but thinks there could possibly be room for another one.

The General Secretary is Brad Wright. He loves motorsport and has a very focussed approach consistent with his vast professional skillset. I am most grateful that Brad has been willing to allocate his very valuable time to support you, the members.

Simon Fock has been appointed Communications and Marketing. Simon’s background is in electronics and digital technology so, our website and digital technology is in great hands. He is also an enthusiastic social drive participant and a very quick motorsport enthusiast.

Rowan Justo is our Youth Representative and likes getting about on drives in his NC. Rowan has plans to draw in new members from the younger generation and we’ll be doing all we can to assist. I thank Rowan for his dedication; the new generation is essential to the club’s survival.

As you can see, we still have two vacancies; Gold Coast Chapter Leader on the committee and Web & Information Co-ordinator in the support role. We need these spots filled to bring value to the members. Don’t be afraid to put your hand up. You’ll receive all the assistance we can muster.

Well, you should have realised by now that the focus will be on acting in good faith, doing what benefits our members and our association and making the club your happy place. It will be at the top of the list of everything the committee considers. Some of us have our training wheels on given that we were only appointed on Saturday and it will take us a little time to figure out ClubExpress.

I look forward to progressing the club for your benefit and will no doubt see many of you at the Christmas Gala, Celebration of Club Champions & Club's 35th Anniversary.
