Club Chapters

The Club has five chapters, four which cover the main areas of SE QLD plus the Motorsport Chapter.

 

BRISBANE CHAPTER

The Brisbane Chapter was formed in January 2001 when the MX-5 Club of Queensland, which was formerly Brisbane-based, opted to form local Chapters to better serve the needs of MX-5 owners living in the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast areas. The primary focus is on using the great roads and the beautiful tropical climate to share what MX-5s do best – zoom, zoom. The climate supports the MX-5 experience with roof down running possible for a lot of the year.

These are sociable little cars and the theme of the Chapter is the same: sociable. Drive, chat, laugh then repeat! We are open to suggestions of other ways to enhance the MX-5 experience, so please share your ideas.

Weather permitting, the Brisbane Chapter runs are held on the second Sunday of the month (unless otherwise specified).

DARLING DOWNS CHAPTER

The Darling Downs Chapter was reformed in October 2017 to serve the needs of MX-5 owners living in the Darling Downs area. The primary focus is on using the great roads and the beautiful (tropical) temperate climate to share what MX-5s do best – zoom, zoom. The climate supports the MX-5 experience with roof down running possible for a lot of the year.

These are sociable little cars and the theme of the Chapter is the same: sociable. Drive, chat, laugh then repeat! We are open to suggestions of other ways to enhance the MX-5 experience, so please share your ideas.  Weather permitting, the Darling Downs Chapter runs are held on the third Sunday of the month (unless otherwise specified).

GOLD COAST CHAPTER

The Gold Coast Chapter was formed in September 2003 to cater to the needs of MX-5 Club of Queensland members in the Gold Coast area.  The primary focus is on using the great roads and the beautiful tropical climate to share what MX-5s do best – zoom, zoom. The climate supports the MX-5 experience with roof down running possible for a lot of the year.

These are sociable little cars and the theme of the Chapter is the same: sociable. Drive, chat, laugh then repeat! We are open to suggestions of other ways to enhance the MX-5 experience, so please share your ideas. 
Weather permitting, the Gold Coast Chapter runs are held on the fourth Sunday of the month (unless otherwise specified).

SUNSHINE COAST CHAPTER

The Sunshine Coast Chapter was formed in January 2001 to cater for members living in the Sunshine Coast area by using the great roads and the beautiful tropical climate to share what MX-5s do best – zoom, zoom. The climate supports the MX-5 experience with roof down running possible for a lot of the year.

The Sunshine Coast Chapter runs are held on the first Sunday of the month (unless otherwise stated).

MOTORSPORT

The Motorsport Chapter caters for members who share a passion for competition, and an interest in using their cars on track and racing events in a safe and controlled environment. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or a newcomer looking to explore motorsport, this chapter offers support. Safety and skill development are priorities, with experienced members willing and able to provide guidance.

Members enjoy access to a range of motorsport events, including sprints, hill climbs, track days, and motorkhana competitions at top venues like Queensland Raceway, Morgan Park and Lakeside Park. The Club combines with other Clubs such as the MG Club and BMW Club under the ICCQ banner to provide a wide range of events for all members.   

Event information is circulated to all members and you are welcome to participate in the events that suits your car and that you are qualified for.  Some events simply require a road registered car whilst others are conducted under race conditions and rules.
