Club Activities

The Mazda MX-5 Club of Queensland conducts motorsport and social activities to cover a broad range of member interests.

MOTORSPORT

Motorsport caters for members who share a passion for competition, and an interest in using their cars on track and in competitive events in a safe and controlled environment. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or a newcomer looking to explore motorsport, the club offers support.

Safety and skill development are priorities, with experienced members willing and able to provide guidance.

Members enjoy access to a range of motorsport events, including sprints, hill climbs, track days, and motorkhana competitions at top venues such as Lakeside Park, Queensland Raceway and Morgan Park. The Club combines with other Clubs such as the MG Club Qld and BMW Club Qld under the ICCQ banner to provide a wide range of events for all members.

Event information is circulated to all members and you are welcome to participate in the events that suits your car and that you are qualified for. Most events simply require a road registered car whilst others are conducted under race conditions and rules. Motorsport Director - Henri van Roden motorsport@mx5clubqld.com.au

SOCIAL

The primary focus of the regional activities is on using the great roads from the Granite Belt to Gympie, the Gold Coast and Scenic Rim to enjoy our interesting roads and beautiful climate and share what MX-5s do best – zoom, zoom. The best way to experience the MX-5 is with roof down running and this is possible in South East Queensland for most of the year.

These are sociable little cars and the theme of the regional activities is the same: sociable. Drive, chat, laugh then repeat! We are open to suggestions of other ways to enhance the MX-5 experience, so please share your ideas.
